I have a BA in Communication from Trinity University. I have been studying French, Spanish, and German at night at Tarrant County College NE campus. I have 4 semesters in each language. I lived in Japan for a year as an English teacher, loved the place, the people and would like to continue learning the language.
I' ve had no formal lessons and only have what I have read in books or what I have picked up from living in Japan, so I would class myself as a relative beginner, although I am past the basic stages and can hold simple conversations , likes and dislike etc.

I am a beginner. I want to be able to speak different languages for employment purposes and just to be able to help translate for people who don't speak english. I also want to be able to teach my children a different language. I have at least 2-3 hours a day, that I can dedicate for language lessons. I am looking for someone who has patients, enjoys teaching others about their language and culture and are good with children.

My proficiency is Japanese is nil. I study Wado-Kai Karate and have learned a few basic things like how to count to 10, how to say thank you, etc.
I wish to learn Japanese as a personal interest, I find the culture intriguing not only in my study of Karate, but other aspects as well like music and anime.
The re are no areas I need particular improvement as I have not yet really begun the task.
The amount of time I wish to dedicate to lessons will be based on teacher availability and cost of the lessons. I will practice diligently when not in class on my own time.
Qual ities I would look for in a teacher are patients and enthusiasm.
