I am an absolute beginner student of the Korean language. I have been mostly studying by watching YouTube videos and other online resources. I have taught myself some basic phrases and Hangul but that's about it. I could use some structure and help with pronunciation , basic grammar, and vocabulary. Practice with basic conversations .
I'm looking for a teacher that will work with me at my speed: some things I can get quite quickly and some things take some patience. I realize that learning a language isn't an exercise in immediate gratification and that much practice is needed is I'm going to achieve a degree of utility in the language. Right now I'm willing to dedicate an hour a day to studying but that may vary over time as my schedule flexes.

I would like to resume my Mandarin Chinese study with Mandarin Chinese teacher six hours a wee plus self study time. Between September 2011 and August 2012 I lived in Beijing, China and spent 4 months at a 30 hour a week intensive language program at Beijing Language and Culture University. I also took Mandarin language lessons at Bellevue College and Portland State University intermittentl y between 2008-2010. I would like to start lessons again in January to increase my language skills. I eventually would like to become fluent, I know that will take many years, especially if I do not move back to China in the near future. I have some basic speaking, reading, and writing skills. I would like to build proficiency and professionali m in all areas. I am excited to learn and find Chinese to be a beautiful and important language to know in a deep way. I would calculate that my current skill level is between beginner and intermediate. I look forward to connecting with a Chinese teacher soon:).

I have been learning Estonian for about one year. I spent three weeks in Tallinn this summer studying the language, so I would consider myself an intermediate beginner. I can spend five to ten hours of self-study time per week. Looking for a teacher to help me with regular weekly tutoring. My husband is Slovak, and I would like to take lessons along with my young daughter, mostly so that she learns the language from someone else besides him. He is currently the only one in her life speaking the language to her, as he has no other Slovak family here, and I want her to get exposed to the language from others as well. The problem is also that we often end up defaulting to English in our home, so even though he is a native speaker, she (and I) don't get the consistent language exposure needed in order to become more fluent.
I have extensive language learning experience in several other languages, but I have never formally studied Slovak. I've studied Czech, but that was many years ago. I have an idea of the grammar and pronunciation , but I am not conversationa l in Slovak at all, beyond general introductions , and my daughter knows various words and a few phrases but that is it right now.
At the moment I am not interested in formal grammar study - I want primarily to focus on the spoken language - listening and speaking, getting comfortable with hearing and producing the language.

I am a beginner (only English speaking). I want to learn Urdu because I really want to learn another language. Additionally it is my goal to travel in regions where that would be the predominant language spoken.
Sinc e I don't know the language I will need major help in grammar, vocab, writing, etc. I have a strong desire to learn, so I will be dedicated and practice a lot. I am looking for someone who will be fairly patient, but push me to learn. I like written and verbal teaching.
