My level is intermediate.
Im learning to enhance the quality of my life as I have many relatives that speak this language.
I need a lot of conversation practise.
I would like personally to spend 10-12 hours a week learning this language. My goal will be to be as close to fluent as possible by August 2007.
I would like a teacher that can explain things well with many examples and who works the students hard with assignments.

Beginner! I am an archaeologist and have spent two summers in Portugal, but only know the very basic with no sentence structure, etc. I am returning this summer and will be in rural Portugal where English is limited, so I would love to learn the native language myself.
I am willing to do a lesson a week or every two weeks and am looking for a patient teacher.

I am a beginner, I have an understanding when reading because of its similiarity with french. I would like to learn portuguese because I am traveling to Brasil soon and I think it's a very beautiful language. I would like to take classes at least twice a week, maybe more. W hy - Considering a move from North to South America due to the slide toward Fascism in North America
Ar eas of Improvement - I have some French skills, and very limited Spanish skills... I have no education in Portugeuse
Time available - 1 lesson a week
Quali ties in a teacher - looking for practical language skills, more vocal than text oriented... street slang a plus. I want to be able to drop into the streets of Brazil, or do interviews in a Favela, the moment I touch down on Brazilian soil.
I'm willing to put in the time, over the next 2 or 3 years, to get the conversationa l skills needed to live and work in Brazil. I intend to start up a business, so I need to be able to communicate directly with employees... I do NOT want to have to rely on a middleman.
