I am a native English speaker originally from Massachusetts . My Grandparents spoke Polish and French yet I know only things in context. I am pursuing a dual major in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences and Linguistics. I love language grammar and syntax. I know Polish is a hard language to master yet I would like to be able to converse. I know pronunciation , alphabet and some phrases. I just completed a research paper on Polish syntax and morphology and that left me wanting to know more. I would like to study once or more a week. I am looking for a teacher who has advanced teaching skills regarding the explanation/t eaching of Polish syntax especially.

I would like to learn Polish for personal reasons.
I am a beginner who will need to read, write, speak, and understand Polish throughly to communicate during my trips to Poland.
I would like to start off with a one-hour lesson every week.
I would like my teacher to be a native speaker who will not use the lesson to learn English. I would like the teacher to be an organized professional and have materials from which I can learn from.

I was born in Poland and have spoken Polish since I was little but have difficulty with more 'formal' Polish as well as with grammar and vocabulary. I also have never learned to formally write or read Polish although I am able to write short emails/letter s to family and friends in Poland.
