I have been interested in learning Mandarin Chinese for some time now. I have been trying to learn this language on my own for a few years off and on. I am mainly learning just for fun, but have dreams of some day traveling to or living in a country where Mandarin is the common language. I already know most of the basics, but need help in developing more everyday vocabulary and with conversationa l skills. I would like to take lessons at least a couple of times a week, depending on the distance of the school/teache r from where I live/work.

My daughters are 6 and 14 years of age. They have been taking Chinese Mandarin classes, grammar and conversation, for a year at the University of Texas at El Paso. Both attend classes Sunday from 9 am to 12 pm. And have passed the entry level and the oldest one finished level one. I really want them to continue their studies in Chinese and I’m looking for a place in Bloomington. I would really appreciate any kind of advice I could get.

I am learning Chinese because it would be pretty amazing to be able to speak the language since most people usually take Spanish or French classes. I took a class for a week during summer school so I'm still a beginner. I would like to learn the language the best i can so how ever long it takes that's how long you will have me as a student. I would like for my tutor to be patient and very knowledgeable about what they are teaching.
