I have always been interested in the Japanese language and culture, I love the diverstity of the language and the people. Currently I have no experience with the Japanese language, but I have the want and the ability to learn.
I wish to learn this foreign language so I can speak with friends that I have made in their native language as well as having the ability to watch foreign films without the subtitling.
I wish to put as much time into this as possible, or as much time as my teacher feels that I will need to put into learning what needs to be completed at any given time in the lesson(s).
I would like my teacher to be confident about what he/she is teaching me. I would also like my teacher to be able to keep my attention at all times and help me want to do well and not just push me through something without first making sure I am grasping the concept. Learning a foreign language can be hard and i want this to be a great experience for us both.

I am contacting you concerning my son, David. We recently returned from a 2 wk vacation in Japan and he is very interested in learning the language. His father is interested also, but I would prefer to concentrate on lessons for David at the moment. I don't believe my husband will have the time to give the language his full attention. My son is 4th generation Japanese/Amer ican. His father was not taught Japanese in the home so our son feels that he wants to regain his rightful language. He is currently taking Spanish and Hebrew language classes. Will that cause a problem? David is a freshman in High School and would like to speak and write Japanese. He would be a beginner. I believe he would be able to dedicate 2 to 3 days a week to learn Japanese. Thank you, Tera Yoshimura
