I will be away, and cannot take the second half of Chinese (mandarin) 300 at my college, but need to be prepared to enter 400 in the fall (of 2005). I can get course material from my teachers at college, but I need to go over the material and speak frequently with a native speaker. The material will focus on newspaper articles and written forms, but be learned in Chinese, not English.

I have a basic vocabulary in spoken Mandarin and a reading vocabulary specific to Chinese medicine. I have lived and traveled in Taiwan and China and would like to devote more time to improving my language skills. I would like to spend about 4-6 hours/week with a tutor or in a classroom setting. Ideally I hope to find a teacher that has some language teaching experience and a clear method of instruction.

I am a beginner. I have been studying part time on my own with textbooks for a couple months, but would like the help of a teacher in speaking/pron unciation, understanding the grammar, and how to make best use of my study time. I'm a complete beginner to the Chinese (Mandarin) language and would like some help with pronunciation and speaking especially. I would like to meet with a tutor one-on-one. I would prefer to meet on the Seattle University campus, which is where I spend most of my days. I can only meet on weekedays afternoon hours, or after 6:30 PM on Mondays and Wednesdays.
I prefer to learn from a native Chinese speaker who has some experience teaching Chinese to an English speaker.
