I am a Ph.D. student at the McGill University. I am studying anthropology and planning to do fieldwork in Kosovo. Before I will be going to Kosovo, I need to learn the Albanian language.
I am a beginner and haven't had Albanian language classes beofore. The areas in which I feel I need particular improvement is grammer and conversation.
I would like to dedicate three hours of language lessons per week.

I am a complete beginner. My boyfriend's family is ethnic Albanian (Montenegro region) and I would like to be able to speak and understand at family events, etc. I am more concerned with conversationa l skills than written fluency, however based on past experience learning other languages, the two tend to go together for me. I work long/unpredic table hours during the week and therefore would need to have lessons on Saturday mornings. I am looking for an actual teacher (not someone who merely speaks the language) who builds his or her lessons on fundamentals (i.e. grammar, verb conjugation) and who will be willing to meet me in Manhattan for lessons.

I am a true beginner, have only listened to the Pimsleur approach tapes and have one grammer book. The purpose of learning is because my husband and his family speak Albanian as their primary language. I would like to learn enough to get by for when we go and visit them. I will devote as much time as it takes so I am very flexible. I am looking for someone who is flexible and can teach me over the internet or telephone because I cannot find a teacher in Ohio.
