I have studied Mandarin for a while by myself. I lived and taught Engish in Wuhan for about a year and a half, but didn't learn much. The students wanted me to speak English. I have gotten about as far as I can on my own and now need help. I use LingQ.com as my main source of lessons. Thanks.

I am looking for a mandarin tutor for my 11 yr old daughter. I can only afford to pay for 1 hr weekly, but my daughter will work hard, and study often. She has lived for an equivalent of 20 months in China. She is using the text book Kuaile Hanyu, and I would also like extra vocabulary given each week that pertains to the unit... I'm actually looking for a tutor for my 4 year old son. He is Singaporean-b orn chinese but speaks only English as I am Australian-bo rn chinese that speaks the Cantonese dialect. We are in Dallas for 2 years. I would like him to pick up Mandarin before he commences primary school in Singapore. It will be difficult for him to catch up otherwise. His only exposure to Mandarin was in his Singapore pre-school (5 days a week only in the mornings) which was dual-language (one Chinese speaking teacher and one English speaking teacher).
He will need to learn characters, hanyu pinyin and spoken.
