I am interested in learning how to speak and read Chinese because we often travel there for pleasure. I have tried to teach myself with audio tapes and books, but I think I need help with the tones, pronunciation , etc. I live 1 1/2 hours from Denver, but am willing to make the trip once a week during the summer and fall. Some classes could be via computer or phone if appropriate. I have a proclivity for learning languages, so Chinese sounds fun to learn!

I travel to China often (started approximately one year ago) and have learned some Mandarin phrases and words. I am still a beginner. I find that when I use Mandarin there is a better sense of friendship and respect with the people I work and socialize with. I would very much like to learn more of the language. I would like to dedicate several hours a week in learning and conversing and of course would like a teacher that would understand the needs of a businessman in China. I do not have much interest in learning to read or write the language and would rather master the speaking part first.

I'm a beginner and would very much like to learn Chinese and/or French. I'd like to learn Chinese in order to better study the culture as well as for potential career advancement. French I would like to learn for fun and for research purposes. I'd like to dedicate 1-4 hours a week on language lessons as well as individual practice/stud y time. I'm looking for a teacher that will be honest with me and help me learn a lot of information quickly. I am very driven to learn Mandarin and am very interested in it. I'm hoping lessons will help me in writing and speaking Chinese and possibly even prepare me to take a Chinese proficiency test.
