I am looking for a brazilian portuguese tutor because I will be travelling to Rio end of August and I need to make sure I can communicate well in portuguese. I have a good knowledge of Spanish and I understand spoken/writte n portuguese (mostly from listening to brazilian songs which I love), but have trouble conversing in the language. Therefore I would welcome a more conversationa l approach, but also with emphasis on the correct use of grammar and acquiring a rich vocabulary. I would prefer to have about 10 intensive classes (say 2 classes per day every other day) in the period 1-18 june that I will spending in the boston area. I might also need further online lessons afterwards.

I am a total beginner in speaking Portuguese, but I can understand most of what I read and some of what I hear. I've never taken a lesson in Portuguese. My native language is English but I now speak Spanish at home (fluently). I would like to learn to speak and understand conversationa l Brazilian portuguese because I work with immigrants from Brazil. I think a few lessons in grammar and pronunciation would really help me. I would like to dedicate one hour per week to lessons, but could spend a little more time on homework. My objective is to get the most for my time investment, as I don't have much time! I will be leaving Vancouver at the end of July.

I have been to Brasil many times, and so I've been able to learn a lot of Portuguese, but I'm not fluent, yet, and I really would like to become fluent. I can give about 15 hours a week for 3 weeks (maybe 6 weeks depending) for studying the language this summer. I need to improve in vocabulary,an d conversation. I understand a lot, and know simple grammar, but I'd like to learn more.
