I was born in China but moved here when I was 7. I only took first grade there but I was still able to continue a conversation. But now that I have no one to talk to in Chinese, other than my mom, my Chinese has really dropped. I can still understand very well but my speaking, writing, and reading skills have went down.
I just want to have the ablity to speak so when I go back, I can talk with my family. My reading skills have gone down but I can still looks at familiar characters and have an idea what it means. My writing skills is horrible but I can still sound out the pinying to type and as I said earlier, I can still recognize common characters.
I am looking for a teacher that will work with my pace and my knowledge. I am a quick learner but there are times I have to slow down to fully understand. And I would like a teacher who challenges me a little without completly throwing me out in the open. I also want a teacher who is fun and can make learning as fun as possible but still pack the lesson in. In person would be the best for me but you're working on just my speaking skills, video chat would also be fine.

I want to lear chinese because of work benefit and interest in the chinese culture. I'm a beginner and I need to improve of course everything. I want to visit a lesson 1-3 times a week if possible, but I'm very flexible as long as it is after 6pm. A native speaker would be great.

This submission is for my son, who I want to learn Chinese instead of Spanish or French. He is going into 6th grade and is a very bright student. I am looking to see if he can attain foreign language credit for this. He has never taken Chinese before. I would like to devote 1-2 hours per week. I am looking for someone who can be very patient, yet challenging and allow for fun learning while really adapting to the language quickly.
