i am a beginner for learning chinese, mandarin. I executed my project work (on behalf of my company)in china for 6 months & i found that it is interesting to learn chinese and to speak chinese using pronounciatio n difference.Th is can be considered as best reason, behind i want to speak with my chinese friends in chinese.As i have little time to spare ,
i can spare twodays for 4 hours& one day as per your convenient hours. You can suggest me the best timings for learning which can be adjustable.
I need to converse,writ e chinese so effieiently as like chinese.
Ask ing me more questions to make me proficiencey & chinese pronounciatio n like chinese people can give better results,
i think. He should be a good guide in learning,spea king chinese rather than a teacher.

My proficiency level in Chinese-Manda rin is that of a Beginner and the reason for learning the same is for career advancement/b eing able to communicate with the natives in Singapore.
The main focus must be on conversationa l Mandarin with adequate grammar necessary for a smooth conversation.
In a month's time, I would like to learn atleast basic Mandarin in order to be able to move around in the country.
I would not mind dedicating 4 hours a day on the same.
The teacher must also be as serious about making me conversant with basic Mandarin and I would ensure a lot of involvement from my end.

Need to start from a beginner's level
Reas ons for wanting to learn the language
1 . Russian
On e of the writers who has made a profound impact on my life is Fyodor Dostoevsky. While I have read most of his key works in English, would want to investigate them in the language in which he wrote - Russian.
2 . Chinese & Tibetan
My current philosophical learnings are toward Mahayana Buddhism and Taoism. Specifically, have been reading Nagarjuna's thesis on Shunyata and the works of Lao Tzu, Chuang Tzu and Lieh Tzu. Would like to further my understanding through reading the actual chinese texts(transla ted from Sanskrit by Kumarajiva et al) and tibetan ones on Buddhism.
Also, want to learn chinese from the point of view of it being a pictoral language.
Depending on the kind of teacher I am able to find, would study one of these threee languages
