Beginner. Looking for someone IN PORTLAND, OREGON for in-person lessons.
My sister spent the past few months in India to further her yoga practice. In that time, she has frequently expressed her desire to be able to speak and understand Hindi, and now that she is returning home to Portland, she has a firm desire to return to India again someday.
She obviously has had some exposure to it, so she is not an absolute beginnger, but she is not conversationa l.
She is brilliant and hard-working, and she devotes herself to anything she seeks to learn (as evidenced by her Ph.D and her traveling to India to study yoga). She would want someone from whom she could not only learn, but with whom she would enjoy speaking, ideally a native speaker -- perhaps with whom she could share experiences of India, keeping her time there(which was rather profound and dear to her) alive and present in her life in Portland.
This is rather unorthodox, I realize, but I would like to link her to a great teacher and give her the first lesson or two as a holiday present. She can make up her own mind as to whether she and the teacher are a good fit, in terms of methods and personalities , to continue from there, but I would at least like to get her started in continuing to learn Hindi here.

I am a beginning Russian language student. I'm interested in learning Russian for educational reasons and am wanting to improve in grammar and especially developing solid conversationa l skills. I'm wanting to have at least four hours a week in private lessons and am looking for a teacher skilled in teaching Russian (a university degree is preferable, but not required) with access to appropriate materials suitable for teaching adult students.

I have never learned Hindi in the past, but I am fluent in both English and French, and I am a rather studious and fast paced learner. I would like to learn Hindi because post achieving my Assoiates Degree in Women's Studies, I wish to spend to years abroad in India to learn about global feminism with women in India. I am able to devote weekly or bi weekly appointments for lessons and I am more than willing to study on my own time. In a teacher I am looking for someone who is open minded and cultured and who is willing to create a personal connection with me as a student.

To Whom it may concern,
I have always had an interest in Asian cultures, Korean and Japanese in particular.
I am very much a beginner, having not had lessons in either language.
My interest in learning this/these language/s is for personal growth. I am also planning to visit both countries in the next 2 years.
My schedule can afford one or two days a week on lessons, currently.
I seek to learn not only the language/s but also much about the culture/s ie: Customs (family,socia l etc), Cuisine, Propper Etiquette in social situations as well as spirituality/ mythology.
