Description I am moving to Japan. I want to become very skilled in the Japanese language so I can make a big difference in the community that I will live in. It is my dream to make a difference in the lives of as many Japanese as possible. I am currently a beginner. I need improvement in all areas. I want a focus in conversation. I want to be able to empower people and touch them with my speech. I would like an very focused and intense schedule if possible. I am looking for a teacher who makes learning fun and playful, but also strict on me at the same time. I am not afraid of any mistake. I want to know all my mistakes as each mistake is another breakthrough waiting to happen.

Description I am an English teacher and I want to learn Japanese and French. I am very much a beginner in both languages.

Japanese:

I have taught myself hiragana and katakana, and I have started learning a few kanji. I don't know much vocabulary and I only know a little about the structure of Japanese.

My goal is to be proficient in Japanese and develop fluency gradually. I want to learn for enjoyment, because I am interested in Japanese language and culture. I have given thought to teaching English in Japan in the future. So I want to learn to speak in a proper and professional way as well as in a casual way.

I would like to spend maybe two hours per week with a tutor, and I would also like 'homework,' or to work independently for several more hours per week. I currently own two volumes of kanji cards (through 4th grade, I believe), hiragana and katakana cards, and a book of Japanese verbs. I just need some explanation of how to put all these things together.

I am looking for a tutor who is a native speaker, and who can offer me insight into Japanese culture as well as language. I would like to meet at a library, or coffee shop, or somewhere in public until I get to know my teacher.

French:

I want to learn French for more practical reasons. One day I will be moving to Canada, and in order to score more points (literally) as an immigrant, I want to demonstrate an understanding of French. I have been doing French Rosetta Stone, and I am still on level 1. I can say things like 'The fish swims,' and 'the boy is not driving the car.' :) Not very advanced! But I really like trying French. The accent is hard but very fun. I think French is a beautiful language. Also I recently found out that my family lineage is French, so I would like to learn for that reason too. I went to France once, but all I said successfully in French was 'excuse me' to get off the metro. :) I loved French culture and food, and even though everyone spoke English I would at least like to try French when I go back someday.

My ideal French teacher would be a native or fluent speaker with a lot of patience. I am very confused with French vowels, and I need to be taught how to pronounce them properly. 'E' says 'uh' and things like that. Very basic. I don't mind being corrected when I'm wrong. I would also like French 'homework' or maybe for my teacher to correct my work in workbooks.

I look forward to learning Japanese and French. Thank you for reading my lengthy profile!

Description My name is Christopher and I created this profile in hopes of becoming fluent in Japanese. I consider myself a beginner knowing nothing more than to ask excuse me and if they speak any English. I have also self trained myself in Hiragana,Kata kana and Kanji.

I am attempting to learn this language for many factors: I have hopes of moving to the native country and pursuing my career,I am very interested in languages and hope to begin my learning of languages with japan. Last and the most immediate in importance is that I am hoping to qualify and be accepted into a Japanese foreign exchange program.

I feel and know that I need improvement in all areas of Japanese, from the rich culture ,grammar, conv ersation,etc..

I am willing to donate all the time I need to obtain a better understanding of the language. The only obstacle may be payment. Even so I am sincere and we can negotiate terms on how I can properly pay your generous services.

What I am looking for in a teacher is a sincere commitment to teaching me for I will be going to your class 100% determined and committed to learn from you. As well as honesty, and a sense of humor, I am not the best social butterfly but I believe having a good surrounding with a friendly teacher can really help the learning. As for the lessons ,I can only pray that the lessons are well constructed and crammed well with a plethora of knowledge. Not a skimpy class so I have to pay more for classes when one could cover them all.

Thank you for the time to understand a little of who I am, and what I hope to accomplish. I really hope to hear from anyone.
