This is actually not for me, but for my boyfriend. He wishes to learn Chinese in all aspects. He is a very motivated and driven student. This will be his first attempt at the language so he is a beginner. I am interested in setting up the classes for him as a gift. He would be able to attend class, as well as some on-line work. I would like his teacher to be geographicall y oriented and a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese. He would be more interested in conversation. He wants to learn because the culture intrigues him and has been wanted to learn how to communicate in Chinese. Perhaps for future career use.

I am a beginner who wants to live in china next spring and would like to have private lessons in mandarin once or twice a week in the late evenings, afternoons or weekends. My girlfriend is fluent and leaves for china in september and i would like to able to communicate on a basic level and read some characters as well. I just graduated from swarthmore college last spring having majored in english and i am student teaching in philadeplhia this fall at mastermann school. I am looking for someone who would be able to accomodate my schedule. Other than that im pretty flexible. I would like to commit 5-10 hrs a week to learning chinese.

I am a beginner.
I intend to travel to Asia next fall and wish to be able to speak and understand a little Chinese.
It would like to understand basic grammmar as well as to be able to exchange greetings and farewells, basic polite statements, directions, etc.
I am willing to commit 4-6 hours per week(?). My schedule is pretty flexible, I will not be available every week.
I am looking for a native Chinese speaking person who has good teaching skills and a somewhat flexible schedule.
