I am looking for a beginner class in this area. I am hoping to find a teacher who is able to help me with reading and writing of basic mandarin. I consider myself to be a hard worker and fairly 'trainable'. Mandarin is completely foreign to me, I am of European descent. Ideally, an instructor with a patient side while I struggle through the first attempts at this new language.

I lived in Taiwan for 22 months, almost 30 years ago. I could speak Mandarin at a high-intermed iate level. I did not focus on reading very many characters.
I plan to return to Taiwan in September of 2010. I wish to recover and advance my spoken Mandarin as quickly as possible. --Very interested in using on-line voice technologies with a teacher.
