I am a Chinese Singaporean, currently working in Beijing on a 3 years contract.
Proficiency level - I am able to converse in Mandarin. I am unable to recognise/rea d and write Chinese characters.
My job requires me to be able to read and and write Chinese characters.
Twice on weekday and once on weekend.
T he lessons must be structured and I must be able to learn/read/wr ite 3000 Chinese characters in 6 months time.

I am a beginner with very little vocabulary. I am going to China on a educational foreign exchange summer of 2007 and would like to have some langauge proficiency before hand. I need particular help in conversationa l and none in reading or writing chinese characters. As a high school student, I can only attend a lesson meeting lasting around 2 hours a week. There are no specific qualities I am looking for in a teacher, just someone who is understanding , patient and who's lessons are not mundane.

I am a beginner in Mandarin Chinese, having been exposed to the language and Chinese culture in my workplace.
I would like to learn to speak Chinese because I think it is one of the most beautiful and expressive languages, and also because someday, I would like to visit China and would like to be able to communicate in the native language.
I am willing to dedicate one or two times a week, in the morning, afternoon or evening. I am an eager and hard working student and am looking for a teacher who is patient and enthusiastic.
