I took an intensive Kiswahili course while studying abroad in Kenya. This was almost two years ago. Although I have had experience, I assume my proficiency level is beginner.
I hope to teach in Kenya beginning in late 2006.
Conv ersation
I am a teacher, so I am available during the summer months, and am flexible about the region of the US in which I study. I hope to spend a significant amount of that time learning Kiswahili.
I am hopeful that my lessons will predominately be focused on conversation and will help me to be comfortable communicating , especially with children. I hope to be challeneged, as I learned quite a bit in such a short time when I was in Kenya. As I study, I hope to be as fully emmersed in the language as possible.
