My husband and I are interested in taking French because of a potential job transfer to Paris. He took French for three years in high school, but has not spoken it since. I took three years of Spanish in high school and one year in college.
We would love to take a class together but understand if our differences in levels would not make it possible. Our best possible days are Friday, Saturday or Sunday, but a Tuesday or Thursday class after 7:30 p.m. might work.
We would love for our teacher to be personal, not too formal.

I would be a beginning student. My plan is to travel to Italy with my daughter this fall. I would like to be fluent enough to facilitate travel in Italy, especially in small towns where English is not likely to be spoken by many people.
I can dedicate at least one hour per day listening to tapes, watching Italian language movies, or studying vocabulary, grammar, syntax, etc. I would like at least one teaching session per week.
I would prefer a patient teacher who emphasizes conversation over grammar, literature or history.
