I've got some new friends and pen-pals from Russia, with whom I can communicate in English only. All my life I've been fascinated by this language, but there seemed never enough time to learn. I guess it's never too late, so I would like to start from zero, and learn basic conversation and some grammar, of course.
I'm ready to dedicate 2-3 hours per week, and would like my tutor to be patient and responsive, someone I could follow easily and learn from quickly.

I am a student at the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. I would like to learn to speak, read, and write (with emphasis on the first two) Mandarin in order to advance my studies of TCM. I have never studied Mandarin Chinese before. I would like to take weekly lessons, and am looking for a teacher who is a native speaker and who will push me to learn the information as quickly as possible.

My name is Chuck. I am interested in learning Mandarin Chinese. My interest in learning this language is basically for business reasons. At present I have no proficiency in Chinese of any dialect. I am looking to devote one hour per day, monday through friday to learning this language. I studied Russian in college. I have taken 2 and 1/2 years of Russian. I am hoping to return to university to complete my M.A., but it has been ten years since my last course in Russian. I struggle with the jump between year two and three. It is hard for me to think in Russian. I am looking for a teacher who will help me identify where I am at and what areas I need to work on. I prefer a patient instructor. I am looking at half hour bi-weekly lessons, or one hour weekly sessions.
