Lived and worked in Colombia and Argentina for several years. Learned the language informally rather than through classes but have not practiced much since 1998. I probably now speak at an intermediate level, perhaps lower due to non-use! Would now like to improve my alanguage abilities and knowledge of latin culture. Planning to work again regularly in Argentina beginning in 2008.
Look ing for a language teacher with humor and informality. Willing to teach over coffee or a vino tinto rather than in a dreary classroom. I would be able to meet for a lesson 2-4 times a week depending on my travel schedule

I am a girl interested in learning Japanese. I am at the beginning level, most likely the least possible level. I would like to learn Japanese because the Japanese culture has always fascinated me and I hope to someday pursue a career involving Japan, and a knowledge of the language would certainly help me reach that goal. I also want to be able to enter a Japanese II course in a few years time, so I must be adequately prepared. I would need schooling in all areas of the Japanese language- conversation, writing, reading... All of it. I could dedicate a few hours on Saturday or Sunday for lessons, but most likely not any days during the week because my workload is already very heavy. I am a very goal-oriented and hard working student, so you could be sure that I would not take lessons lightly. I would like for my instructor to be someone who can understand the workload I am already under and will try his or her best to help me along as needed. I am aware that Japanese will be challenging, so I need someone kind and supportive to guide me through the difficulties. Most importantly, my teacher would need to be nearby, in the area surrounding Dallas, so that I can easily take lessons in person. Please help teach me!

Though I've spent a little time in China and attend a Chinese church, my Chinese is still very much at the basic level. I want to learn because one, I have many Chinese friends, and two, because I desire to live in China. For now I just want to learn conversationa l. I'm willing to dedicate as much time as possible.
