I plan to spend three months traveling in China and would like to learn Mandarin Chinese in order to enhance my cultural understanding while visiting. As of now, I have basically no Chinese language skills. But, I would like to focus on travel-relate d and conversationa l Chinese language elements, such as reading common characters and speaking. I would like to study for approximately two weeks, for about 15-20 hours/week. My ideal teacher would push me to work hard and learn as much as possible in the short period of time I have for classroom learning.

I want to learn Chinese language for my business use. I have never studied chinese before and want to learn from basic especially conversation. I want to be able to speak chinese with the suppliers from China as I buy goods from them. I will dedicate as much time as needed for me to be able to talk fluently in Chinese. I was an intermediate to advanced (somewhere in between) in both Mandarin and Cantonese in September 1995 but discontinued study to relocate for school in California. I have been studying Mandarin on and off since 2006 in Seattle and my teacher will be relocating to Texas this summer. I am seeking a new forum to study Mandarin and ideally Cantonese as well.
