I want to lern Tswana because I want to become a teacher in Botswana. I am currently a senior in high school. I am going to go to college for a teachers degree. I have always loved Africa. I was listening to a CD one day when I came across a song in Tswana i fell in love with the song. The people who sang it had just went to Botswana as missionary's. Since then I have been studying Botswana and the language right now all I know is the song but i really want to learn more. So I can become a teacher in Botswana. I fell like learning the language would really benifit me. I will put as much time as I can into learning the language. It is something i really want to do. I am looking for a teacher who will be patient with me. I also want lessons that will benifit me and help me learn the language fast, but at the same time allow me to have fun learning it.

Hello, I am interested in learning Tswana beyond the level of 'Dumela', 'O kae', etc. I have many Batswana friends and I could actually imagine myself going to Botswana, even for a longer period (if it is possible). I believe the key to a culture is its language.
I am a student of foreign languages (English and Norwegian - my mother tongue is German and I also have a basic knowledge of French) and Tswana is the next one 'on my list'. I have no proficiency yet, but I would love to be able to communicate in everyday situations.
The time I can dedicate would amount to between 1 and maybe 4 hours per week, preferably in the evening hours, as I am a full-time student and part-time working.
My teacher should be demanding, as I really want to learn a lot, but as long as he or she is willing to take up such a task, I would be grateful for any kind of help.

I am a beginner as I am not yet able to finish a conversation in Tswana. I am learning this language because I've made a friend in Botswana and would like to learn his language and also because I moved from Cape Town to work in Johannesburg and after a year I have not managed to speak any of the local languages except for Zulu. I believe I need to work on both grammar and conversation. I think two months are enought just to learn the basics so I need someone who is dedicated and patient.
