I have just arrived in Pretoria and am Zulu speaking. I would like to learn Tswana since it's the most spoken language in Pretoria and it's the simplest language. It's interesting and it's nice when people speak it. I love learning other languages and I feel it's best that I start with it.

Having been given a Tswana first name by my father, my curiosity in all things Tswana has always been great. In particuar, the language has always had a sense of elegance and interested me so much that I have finally taken the big step in trying to be more proficient in it. Having grown up in Swaziland which is continuously bombarded by South African media, I have come o know quite a number of Tswana words and common phrases. However, I am yet to grasp the complex gramma that is employed in this language. Through the services of a Tswana teacher, I hope to greatly improve my knowledge in this aspect of the language as well as my vocabulary. I am currently about to complete an IB program at Waterford Kamhlaba UWCSA in Swaziland as well as my applications to university in America. Most of those those that I am applying to require a student to be proficient in two languages and have a significant grasp of a third. I have been planned o make use of my gap year which is about 8 months to learn Sitswana.
