I am caucasian and a high school and college English teacher with a fascination for learning Mandarin. In 2004-2005 I taught English in Harbin at Li Gong Daxue. Ni keyi jiao wo Lin Ming Xin. Cong 2008 nian 8 yue dao 2008 nian 12 yue (si ge yue) wo zai Shenyang Shifan Daxue xuexi Putonghua. I have forgotten much of what I have learned, unfortunately . I think I would be called an advanced beginner. In Feb.2008, I co-emceed Chinese New Year at VIU in Nanaimo--a wonderful experience! This is the kind of thing I would like to do again. I very much look forward to a Mandarin teacher contacting me. As a teacher, I am open to the possibility of some language exchange, if that should be desirable. Xie xie ni.

I am willing to learn the German language fluently as my future plans are to attend university in Germany. My proficiency level is a beginner but I have been able to learn basic words from books and computer lessons. I am willing to dedicate 1/1.5 hours a week to learn the language, all depending on the teachers and my schedule.

I am going into a manga career and believe it would be very useful to know Japanese since manga comes from Japan. I have been studying on my own and have learned many things like the sentence structure and what-not, however I have difficulty learning the actual words for myself to use.
