Hi, I'm learning Mandarin for personal interest and also wish to be able to converse in Mandarin with a friend. I need help with basic conversationa l skills! Reading proficiency is much better - I can read Chinese texts (in characters) at about an intermediate- college level and would like to be able to read newspapers in Chinese. Would spend at least 2 hours per week on lessons, and much more on personal study.
