I am a beginner. I have purchased Japanese language books and an audio language learning program. But I'm having a difficult time staying motivated because I have no live person to help me practice what I learn. I have made some Japanese friends (who are kind enough to speak English to me) and I want to travel to Japan one day but I would like to speak enough to get around and write emails to my friends. I'm interested in attending classes or taking private lessons.

Hello I recently returned to America after living in Japan for 2 years. I wish to keep my language skills. My language proficiency is either low intermediate or advanced beginner. I have passed level 3 of the Nihongo Noryoku Shiken. I may return to live in Japan some day and I need to stay current with the language. I need practice speaking as I can study Kanji on my own. Ideally I would like to have at least two hours of class a week. I am willing to do homework outside of class. I am looking for a native Japanese speaker who is patient and kind. Beginner. I have been practicing Aikido in Houston for almost three years and I find the Japanese culture to be quite fasinating. I have wanted to learn a second language for some time now and figured Japanese would be the best place to start considering my current interests. I would like to start with an hour a week, and willing to put in outside practice with other speaking persons during the week. In having talked to several people about lessons, I feel it important to learn how the language works rather than memorizing names of animals and pronouns. I am not looking to learn Japanese overnight, so all of the 'fast' Japanese courses do not interest me.
