If you are a beginner, I think the most basic pinyin is a must. Along with boring word memorisation, you will learn how to communicate simply.
If you have learnt the basics of listening, speaking, reading and writing, then all we need is to refine the grammar and fluency in conversation. We will be practising mock conversations with scenarios. I can only answer questions about grammar and cannot teach systematicall y, as I am not a student of Chinese linguistics, I am only a native Chinese speaker.
For Chinese culture, I can explain in detail if you are interested, as I am also particularly interested in Chinese mythology. Whatever the question about China, I will do my best to answer all your questions.
