I want to learn Scottish Gaelic for several reasons.
1) it seems like a fun and challenging way to exercise my brain.
2) I have a lot of Scottish ancestry and feel that this would be a great way to honor my heritage.
3) the language is seriously threatened right now and I would like to see a resurgence in it's use.
I'm very much a beginner right now, having only learned a little from websites and free apps. I can't even hold a decent conversation yet. I need a lot of improvement but I would be a lot more motivated to learn more if I had someone to practice with.
I would be willing to meet up an hour or so every week to start with. I'm just hoping to find a conversation partner or group that is willing to put up with a beginner like me. An ideal situation would be a beginner group or anyone to practice easy beginner level phrases, words and pronunciation with. If I can't find something like that, even a more advance group that might willing to let me lurk and learn from them until I am at a level that I can contribute something to the conversation.
I can't afford to pay a teacher so I'm looking for free conversation groups.

I have almost completed the Scottish Gaelic course on Duolingo--it has taken me two years. Meanwhile I have been learning through online teachers and tutors and sometimes in conversation groups in order to improve my ability to speak the language. I want conversation but I also need pronunciation help and grammar correction and explanation. I think once or twice a week for an hour would probably be optimal. I am in the Central Time zone but can get up early for someone who is in the UK who would like to teach me during the afternoon there.

Hello,
I am working on becoming fluent in Scottish Gaelic and am interested in an online, intermediate group class (private instruction is great too if there are no classes available). I have been learning the language for the past 2 years using Duolingo as my primary source along with a few reference books. I took a summer online course when I first started and really enjoyed the experience. I have visited Scotland twice and lived in Edinburgh for about 6 weeks while working a rotation in a local pharmacy and cannot wait to travel back!

I'm looking for a Scottish Gaelic teacher. I tried Colaisde na Gàidhlig and have the materials including workbook and sound files, but I found the pace unrealistic.
I work a very demanding job and suggested that they break every lesson into two lessons, create part 1 and part 2, charge the same! Because folks like me need smaller chunks of learning in order to stay engaged and encouraged.
Looking for a teacher who I can meet with once a week for short lessons and study more broadly on my own during the week.
