My desire is to understand and be able to communicate with my 'real' native language. I also would like to visit all my relatives in Bulgaria and I would like to understand the language before I left.
I'd classify myself as a beginner but I can understand selective portions, phrases, and words since I grew up with my family speaking Bulgarian.
I would have to start from the ground up, but I understand how to pronounce most of the words.
I'm looking for someone who is professional, patient, and willing to take the time to help out when I struggle. The teacher would have to be located in Georgia - preferably around/near Atlanta. I would prefer someone who is well versed in Bulgarian and also someone who knows how to write in Bulgarian also.

beginner, I want to learn this language because my ex husband is Bulgarian. He was a great student and learned English very fast but he was not a teacher so I know very little of his language but have always wanted to learn it. I want to learn all areas of the language. I want to spend an hour or more a day. The qualities I am looking for are for the teacher to be able to understand what I don't and have the patients to tell me in more ways than one until I get it right.
