My level is zero. I cannot speak Portuguese but I have no problem reading it. My job puts me in constant contact with Brazil, but I can say very little. I think I would pick up the language fast if I can find someone to help me.
I believe that I have a knack and a good ear for languages and would also love to learn French, Italian and Mandarin.
I am a mature female working for a large Bank in New York. Also; by next year around this time I should be completing my Bachelor's in Information Technology.

I am looking for a laid back teacher, who would make lessons interesting enough to keep me going. I was trying to study Polish myself, but I figured that this is a very hard task, so I think I need a teacher who would give me some incentive. I'm learning Polish, because my wife is Polish and I would like to be able to communicate with her family.

Dear Sir or Madam,
My proficiency level in the Punjabi language is that of a beginner.
I have decided to learn the Punjabi language for two reasons: 1.) Although I was born in India and my family speaks Punjabi and Hindi in the household, I was raised in America and have thus primarily focused on the English language. I feel it is important for me to be able to comfortably speak to my family members in my native tongue. I also want to be able to pass on the Punjabi language to my future children. 2.) My place of employment has contact with members of the Punjabi population on a regular basis. Most of the time interpreters are needed to communicate. I would like to be able to accurately translate from Punjabi to English and vice-versa so that my agency will not have to rely so much on outside translators.
I feel I need particular improvement in primarily the area of conversation.
I am willing to dedicate a few hours a week to my language lessons.
I would prefer my language lessons to be easy to understand and possibbly incorporate the use of visual aides. I would prefer my teacher to be organized, prepared, understanding , professional and helpful.

salaam Alaykum:
I am a beginner in Urdu.
I am going to marry a man whose native tongue is Urdu. His family speaks Urdu fluently, and it is his family's wish that I learn the language. They help me and I apprefiate it but I would like to take a class to futher my learning.
I am not sure what can be accomplished in what amount of time, so I need guidance in answering your question about how much time I plan to commit to this task.
My goal is to learn Urdu conversationa lly.
I am looking for a teacher who is fluent in English, is patient, and has a structured approach to his/her teaching.
