I like learning languages and traveling, and Spanish is a very useful language to know both for travel and business opportunities .
I'd consider myself a beginner, since I did take some group lessons in Spanish a few years back, and I used to be quite fluent in Italian as well as know knowing some French, both of which, being romance languages, have been helpful when I started learning Español.
M y goal is to become fully fluent, both spoken and written, however, my experience learning languages have shown me that while one can achieve written fluency by self study, oral fluency depends on one-on-one conversationa l instruction, so I am willing to put in the extra time outside the lesson time to improve my written skills while focusing on grammatically correct conversationa l skills during the lessons.
I am able to adjust the time spent on learning based on need--at least once a week and could be more than that if both the instructor and I think it's warranted.

Saludos.
I would like a weekly lesson of an hour to two hours of Spanish private tutoring in my home in Denver Colorado. I am willing to pay $20.00 per hour for each lesson. I want to be able to read Spanish writing and poetry in the original, to speak reasonably fluent Spanish and gain a deeper appreciation of the Spanish language.
I would like a native speaker from Spain, Mexico, or Central or South America with a good accent, who has an enthusiasm for Spanish literature music and poetry. I have a haphazard grasp of Spanish, which means that I can read and understand normal Spanish with some help from my dictionary, but I would be very happy if these lessons help me to attain conversationa l and writing fluency in this lifetime if that happens to be possible.
I would like a tutor who can find a good balance of structure and fun, meaning someone who can integrate a lesson plan of grammar and fluency skills with Spanish short stories, music, magazine or newspaper articles, poetry and other aspects of Spanish culture. I consider a kind, pleasant and easy going temperament in a teacher a big plus. I would prefer an older teacher to a younger one, but this is only a preference and not an absolute requirement.
I live 10 to 15 minutes North of downtown Denver.
I have a dog, so I hope you are not allergic to them.
I would prefer afternoon or evening lessons as I am not an early riser.
I am a 57 year old retired employee of the state of Colorado. I was born and raised in Sri Lanka, and English is my first language.
