I am learning Korean because I love the culture and the sound of the language. I have been teaching myself a little bit and I really want to become fluent. my proficiency level is not beginner but not beginner. I know a lot but not enough to be fluent. I have lots of holes in my education so I might have to take a proficiency test. I probably need improvement in listening, conversation and vocabulary. I want to commit a lot of time to my language lessons but I do have school and work two jobs so I will happily work with what the instructor and I are able to work out.

I'm looking for a teacher to help me continue learning Thai at an intermediate level. I can already read and write and I have basic vocabulary from taking a year of Thai at the UW. I have been to Thailand 3 times and I am going back next year. I want to prepare for my trip by improving my conversationa l skills and vocabulary.

I am interested in learning Russian because it is part of my heritage. I have been surrounded family and friend who speak Russian but I have never learned the language.
I am a beginner and know some conversation and Russian words for household items, family (aunt, uncle, grandma, grandpa), and words regarding church phrases (I went to an all Russian Church as a child).
I need to improve in speaking, reading, and understanding Russian. I am a beginner at this level.
I will dedicate ample time with regard to what the instructor recommends. I am very serious at this point and have waited many years to learn Russian.
The qualities I am looking for are: patience, someone who understands the culture, and someone who genuinely cares their student is progressing in learning.

CDs and Software are not helping me to learn Thai, but when I go to Thailand to visit family I learn quickly. It would seem that I need conversationa l and then academic Thai as I hope to teach in my retirement.
