In researching my family history I've found that one set of great grandparents immigrated from Suwalki Poland. Many of the geneological research materials available are in Polish and that sparked my interest. Additionally, I believe that learning a language gives greater insight into the culture of an area.
I've tried teaching myself with Rosetta Stone and other tools but with only limited success. I think I need a more structured approach.

I'm currently enrolled in Cisco College in Abilene, TX and reside in Clyde, TX. After the completion of my Associates Degree my family and I am planning a move to TN so that I can finish my Undergraduate Degree and then pursue my Graduate Degree. I'm wanting to learn polish so that I can become fluent in my families native tongue. I'm a beginner at the polish language due to a lack of polish programs in the local area so every aspect of the language is going to need work. I'm wanting to try and dedicate anywhere between 5 and 10 hours a week to the learning process. I would like to find a teacher that is proficient in the polish language with at least a Bachelors Degree. A teacher born in Poland would be a plus in my opinion, as well as a teacher with a good teaching background and patience is a must. I'm looking for private, face to face lessons.
