| Description |
Hi, my name is Vinny Connor. I was born in England, to an irish mother and my dad was third generation English ( his grandparents were fron co mayo ) . We moved home to Dublin when I was almost 13 . I went to school, but was told I was too old to start irish, so I have never studied Irish befor.I met my future wife Eva when I was twenty three, and two years later we came to America. that was twentysix years ago. I am bi- polar and ADD. Although I was diagnosed in ninety eight I only received medication for my ADD six years ago. Since then I was able to read, and have not stopped since. I when back to school this year, and passed my GED. Although I have only been reading for a short time.i read and study everything from the bible to philosophy, and social science to name a few. I have a great interest in both history, and mythology. I have started to read irish history and a little cetic mythology, but would love to be able to read them the way they we're originally writen. I mentioned this to Eva and she would love to learn to. Eva did learn irish in school, but has forgotten most of what she learned. We would love to be able to both read and speak irish, so we are looking for a tutor to teach us. We are look kings start inthe new year. If you think that you are the one for us we would love to hear from you. Like I said we won't be starting until the new year, so take your time and we hope to talk to you soon. Vinny and eva

Interested in Scottish, but cannot find it in NJ, so I would like to try out Irish instead. Had a few Scottish lessons years ago and don't remember much. I teach ESL at the college level, and speak several languages relatively fluenty. Mostly my issue is time/availabi lity, so looking for something close to home and easy to schedule.

My family history on my father's side is Irish (a few generations back my family were originally from Co. Kerry, however my great grandfather was adopted and though we know his birth family were Irish, we know little else) and so I've always had a fascination and affinity with Ireland. I finally went in November of 2013 and absolutely loved it, I want to go back and when I go I'd love to be able to speak a little of the language. I am an absolute beginner and have no experience with Irish Gaelic at all, but I'd really like to learn. I'd love a teacher who is friendly and would be happy to teach me once a week for an hour or so, preferably in person, because I'd love to pick up the language as a hobby.

Hi Teacher,
I have a broken heart and I thought that it might be fun to learn a bit of Gaelic to put together a few songs that tell my story... well, it's okay if it is a lot of made up words, but I'd like to get the important ones right and a feel for the language.
I don't have much to spend on this and I can't say I'm the most committed of students but I thought there might be someone out there willing to help me muddle my way through... I met a bride and her friends in Galway one evening and I can assure you from the experience that despite their wonderful attempts and encouragement I was utterly incapable of uttering anything that wasn't worth more than a good laugh.
Wis h me luck or send me a message,
D evin
