I have a Diploma in Vocational Arabic and wish to maintain currency with conversationa l, reading, writing and interpreting skills.
Texts I have studied include:
A l Kitaab Pt1 Vol 2 - Brustaad, Al Tonsi etal
Media Arabic - Al Tonsi
Authen tic materials, both written and audio, from Press Reports to short historical exerts - ie. Biographical summary of Omar Mukhtar, etc.
Ski lls I have been studying are conversation, interpreting, translating, listening, reading and writing.
Learning for both professional and personal interests.
N eed practice in conversation, in particular pronounciatio n in MSA.
Would like to continue studying Grammar and continue with the reading and writing aspectsas well.
Also interested in learning some regional dialects. Particualrly interested in Iraqi and Egyptian dialects.
I am looking at having one to two tutoring sessions a week.

I visit France each year as I have a long connection with an area in the south west, plus I ride my bike in the alps and pyrennees.
I am confident in talking to people I meet in shops etc but I want to develop my language further.
I can use future and past tenses (imperfect, perfect etc)but I have a limited vocabulary and I think I've got into bad habits over the years as people have been too polite to correct me! I would like ideally to have weekly classes, either individually or in a small group, with the emphasis on spoken french, not reading the classics, but I'd love to understand the quiz shows on early evening TV. Ideally the teacher would be someone currently closely connected to France. Discussions of history and politics would be OK too. I would be quite happy to do extra work on cd programs at the same time
