I want to learn sign language because i have met a few deaf people in the past and haven't been able to communicate with them probably so would like to learn so i can change that. I am interested in other languages as well but wanted to start with sign. I have learnt some American sign language from online videos (the alphabet, greetings etc.) but it is hard to tell how reliable they are. I will dedicate as much time to signing as it takes for me to pick it up relatively fast but the biggest obstacles in my way are how expensive lessons are and how hard it is to find a teacher in Brisbane. I want a teacher who is patient and can easily explain things. SOmeone who isn't overly strict and doesn't overcharge for lessons.
