Hello!
I am balikbayan from the U.S. and am in the Philippines for six months. One of my goals while here is to learn Tagalog. I have studied independently and also took an 8-week intensive course that is the equivalent of one year of study. I took this intensive at the University of Wisconsin, Madision, in 2003.
Currently I study Tagalog 3 hours a day during the work week.
I am looking for a teacher who will set goals and the learning agenda with me. In my learning I want conversationa l practice, vocabulary building, and grammar.

Respected Teacher,
I would like to learn Filipino as i have been living in manila for 2 years now and plan to live here for long .I feel the need to know the language to be a productive part of this country .I would like to stat from the beginer level classes. The prime area of focus for me is conversations .I would ideally like to dedicate about 2- 3 months to be able to converse fluently in tagalog, and am looking for a teacher who would help me breeze through the lessons comfortably, and at the same rime be able to make me proficient in the language.
