I am 36 and in the process of learning Greek and have found that having a teacher or tutor is an important step. I am still at the beginner stage working with 'teach yourself' Books and CD's. I would like to focus on conversationa l and functional greek at first then develop in depth language skills later.
I would prefer a one on one teacher if posibble who is patient and confident with a good sense of humour.
The location is negotiable, I'm willing to travel, and the length of time is also negotiable (depending on location).

I am learning greek to become proficient at conversation. Some close friends and in-laws live there, and I really want to be able to speak with them without the use of a translator. I would say that I am a beginner, as I know some speech, but am struggling with grammar, tense, and gender articles. I would be looking to dedicate between 2-3 hours a week. My teacher just needs to be explanatory, as I ask a lot of questions, and work with me in repetition, and checking for clarity and understanding !

My 10 yo son would like a tutor in ANCIENT Greek following on from an interest he has developed in Greek Myths and Legends (initially stimulated by reading Percy Jackson books.)
He is an absolute beginner. He would like to learn the writing as well (has an interest in codes).
The main quality in a teacher would be someone who would enjoy the company of a 10 yo. Could come to our house or we would go to them....
