I've never spoken Gaelic, or know anyone who could speak it, except for my grandfather who passed about 12 years ago. I would like to reach back to my roots as an Irish. I feel so disconnected from where my ancestors orginated. I would like to learn how to speak Gaelic in converstion form. I would like to go to Ireland and have a normal conversation with someone local who speaks the same. I would like to dedicate as much time as possible. I work through out the week as an Air Force recruiter. Either a couple times a week after work, or on weekends. The qualities I'm looking for in teacher, is number one patience. Someone who is able to work with me on a one on one basis.

I have no previous knowledge of the Irish language.
I am a 27 year old male in the United States of American; my wife and I are planning on children and would like to teach them of their heritage.
My wife is a Mexican-Ameri can and does plan on teaching our children Spanish, in the same way I would like to teach out children Gaelic.
I am willing to dedicate 20 hours per week of study through writing, speaking and research of the language and history of the country.
I am looking for a teacher with a passion for the language and a heart for progress.
Th is is an idea that I have been meddling with for years and plan to give it my full attention once engaged.

I'm a 19 year old girl, and I want to learn Gealic Irish because it is the language that my ancestors spoke. I have had no practice at the language at all, so I am a beginner. I have no idea how to pronunciate words in Gealic Irish at all. I am willing to spend evenings after school 4-6 each evening learning the language. I am looking for a devoted teacher who enjoys teaching new students, and that has a lot of patience. I hope to find a teacher that can teach me Gealic Irish so that I can speak the language fluently.
