I am learning Bosnian in order to communicate better with my wife's lovely extended family in their native tongue. At present I have a low (but non-zero) understanding of conversations spoken around me and a fair bit of vocabulary (which helps), but I feel certain I have holes in many of the basic parts of the language, and not yet a good grasp of the grammar. I can form some simple sentences, but I'm not yet conversationa l beyond simple, 'Dobar dan! Kako Ste/si? Dobar sam, hvala! Drago mi je. Zovem se Den. A Vi/ti?' kinds of introductory exchanges. I am looking to extend this further, and am looking for someone who is familiar with the Bosnian dialect of north west Bosnia.
At present I'd like to start with one lesson a week, to expand grammar and conversationa l skills. I'm looking for someone who can give me some formal grounding in the structure of the language, as well as improving my speed and proficiency in colloquialism s in speech, and would like to get to a stage of being able to read and understand Bosnian literature.

My father is Icelandic and unfortunately due to his rigorous working schedule he didn’t teach me Icelandic growing up. Now that I’m an adult and have completed my studies, I finally have the time to learn another language. I recently sponsored an NGO in Cambodia, and I wish to be able to become fairly fluent in Khmer, so that I can be better understood when I visit.
I am planning a trip to Cambodia within the next 5 months, and I plan to travel back to Cambodia at least annually.
I wish to be able to communicate in Khmer, and in all facets of daily life, possibly even to assist in teaching English to Cambodian NGO's in future years.
