I would like to learn Finnish as I have plans to travel there and possibly study/work there for a Masters program 2013-2014.
I have zero knowledge of Finnish so I will be starting from scratch.
C onsidering I have no Finnish knowledge, I will need work on everything.
The amount of time I would like to dedicate to the course depends on the exercises given and the teacher. I would like to learn as fast as I can absorb the information sufficiently. I would like to be fluent and have a real understanding .
I would like a teacher who will push but not intimidate me. I may need some motivation when I start self doubt but I'm happy with a nice, friendly competent teacher.

Im trying to find a swedish spoken teacher, who's available for private lessons at home. It's for my children: George & Annastasia! They are 7 and 5. The language we speak at home is English. My Husband is Greek, Im swedish, so we ended up speaking English only with the children. I'm trying to get the them ready to start Swedish school,

Hello. I travelled to Iceland last year and fell in love with the country. I enjoyed listening to the language and but wasn't there long enough to learn to speak much beyond some key words and phrases. Although there isn't a great benefit to learning Icelandic, I would like to challenge myself to overcome its complexities enough to at least have a conversation with some of the locals, especially if I return. I have been studying Hildur Jonsdöttir's 'Teach yourself Icelandic' with. varying intensity so am slowly getting my mind around verb conjugation and pronunciation s. I have a busy job but would like to dedicate some time to this, preferably as structured lessons.

For me, learning Finnish is fulfilling a dream I've had since I was twelve. I'm a nursing student, looking to move there when it's viable, and I know to work there you need to be fluent.
I' m not ashamed to admit that the only Finnish I know is what I've heard in songs, along with certain pleasantries; I'm also not ashamed to admit that I am an utter beginner.
In terms of time dedicated to learning, I would invest as much time, if not more; as I do into my university work.
I would love a teacher who is as passionate about teaching Finnish as I am about learning it.
