I will be in Osaka, Japan for the summer. My profiency level is probably beginner. I know hiragana and almost no kanji. I am starting graduate school in the Fall (2009) and need to complete a language requirement by then. I am looking for intensive training where I relearn the basics while also working on Japanese to English translations for the sake of research.
I am willing to spend a lot of time on this in July and August. I envision about three hours a day.

I am learning my foreign language for religious reasons and for career advancement.
I need particular improvement for grammar and conversation and all the above regarding the language which i am seeking to learn.
I would like to dedicate as much time needed to learn my language.

I do not know any Tamil, but would like to learn some basics before I leave for Southern India in June. I would like to have lessons about once a week, maybe 2-3 hours per session. I am planning on spending time abroad (in Thai) in 6 months or so, so I would like to be able to have a basic conversation with people there.
