You never know how much time you need to learn language, some of them seems to be easier than the other ones. I consider myself to be a good learner, and I would try to figure out the time in a study process.
I need a native speaker teacher...I want him to be professional, and proficient with serious and responsible attitude to his job.

I am a beginner. I know only a few common lithuanian greetings and phrases. I am learning the language in order to communicate with a person that is very important to me. My grammar and conversationa l skills are poor. I am willing to put in about 5 to six hours per week of study. I would like to have a friendly teacher with a lot of patience.

My daughter is a college student in Ohio and asked me to research for her. She is a beginner level Japanese student. She is interested in qualifying for the JET program this fall. She has looked at the UC Berkeley summer class but would like to stay at home this summer. She wants to be able to speak well enough Japanese to live/work there for a year or two, possibly read Japanese as well. She is learning characters and vocabulary on her own now. She is not looking for a casual approach but is seriously interested in being as proficient as possible by the end of summer. She has an ear for language and strength in vocabulary memory.
