Prior to going to China to study chinese I had lived in Singapore for over 4 years but had not learned the language. I felt learning the language would be a good way to understand the people and culture better. I would like to improve my level of chinese so I can better communicate with chinese speakers and possibly use these language skills in a different career.
Li ving in Canada I am no longer exposed to chinese language on a daily basis and I feel this is an area where i need the most work listening and conversing. My vocabulary is limited and my grammer is simple.
I am willing to spend as much time as necessary to improve my Mandarin proficiency.
