Hello,
My name is Ryan. I just returned to Canada a few weeks ago after spending about 3 years in Japan. I had a language exchange partner for about a year and a half and really enjoyed studying Japanese. I would like to start studying Japanese again here in Calgary if I can find a Japanese teacher or a language exchange partner.
I would consider my Japanese level to be beginner - intermediate. I would like to have about 2 hours of lessons per week. I have a Japananese textbook and would like to use it in the lessons combined with free conversation.

I am writing this email on behalf of my son who is in Japan now. He has a job teaching English to nursery school children starting on Aug15. He would like to learn as much of the basic language as possible to communicate in Japan. At this time is looking into staying in Japan but it is rather expensive to go to the university to learn Japanese and stay in the dormitories there. Another alternative is to come back to Calgary to learn Japanese here. Just wondering if there would be any classes(sessi ons) available for about a month in July or even beginning in June and what would the cost be. Thank you

Greetings,
My proficiency level in Portuguese is non-existant.
My current job is expanding to include more and more business dealings in South America. Even though the vast majority of our clients are proficient in English, I feel we should make an effort to try and understand the people we deal with every day. The company I work for is a high tech manufacturing company and i beleive that if both parties even partly understand each others languages, it would be a great benefit and would make our transactions much smoother.
To give you and idea of the results I am looking for, is the ability to travel to a Trade Show and be able to support and intelligently converse with clients in their native tongue.
In addition to gaining some proficiency in the language, I am also looking for some insight into the business and social cultures of the Portuguese speaking countries. We currently forming a strong relationship with a Brazilian company.
I would be looking for a program that probably had face to face lessons at least once or twice a week. Evenings and weekends only. An affiliation with a that speaks Portuguese would be a benefit after I have gained some knowledge and skill of the language. In other words, and ability to practice what I have learned in real life situations.
