I have recently completed a Bachelors degree in European History (Medieval and Renaissance) and Art History and theory and intend to do further study in conservation of cultural materials from these periods. I have begun learning French, although I am only on a very basic level, having studied the basics of grammar, simple travel vocabulary and so on. I wish to learn to read and translate Latin to enrich my study of the medieval and Renaissance periods,with the hope that one day I could work with illuminated manuscripts, unfortunately I have not had the chance to study the language yet.
As I am currently working full time, I am unable to devote too much time to study, most likely only a few hours a week. I am looking for a tutor with a great deal of patience, but also enthusiasm for the Latin language, and an appreciation of history. In terms of lessons, I would prefer to have a face-to-face class once a week, so that I can ask any small questions or get clarification on certain points, and to be able to go over any concepts I struggle with. I would also prefer for lessons to have some structure, but with a teacher flexible enough to alter lessons to suit my learning abilities.
