I am learning spanish just for personal use. I am from Arizona, USA, and there is a large Mexican, so spanish speaking population. I would like to be able to possibly implement the use in volunteer work or with a future career.
I took a few college courses a few years ago, and have been in a course just recently. I lived with a spanish speaking family in Brussels who are interpreters. I just don't feel comfortable speaking, though i understand a lot.
I have quite a bit of vocabulary, but I don't feel comfortable with sentence structure. Maybe focusing on making me speak, asking questions and having sets of things to discuss.
I don't have any set amount of time or group size, just probably smaller than 5. I would really like to make a huge effort for the next few months and improve a lot.
I am looking for someone who is patient and nice, and funny always helps too! haha

I am a Masters student and will be doing research in areas that I will more comfortable if I know Tagalog. I will be a beginner - I have studied Spanish in the past. I would like to have class 5 hours per week. I would like my teacher to be patient, positive and knowledgable with teaching this language. I am currently attending the Univ of Washington and am also wondering if there is anyway to get the class accredited for college credit there.

My interest in the Thai language was germinated from a Prospective relationship. I recently met a woman from Thailand who speaks a little english. While she is learning english I want to learn Thai to share communication s with her.
I have some thai books and cds but the language is daunting. I speak English and Spanish, and have studied German, Chinese, Russian, French and Malay. Thai is much more difficult than these languages.
I am still a rank beginner, being able to read and write less than half the alphabet. Pronunciation is not a problem if I have a good model to follow. The grammar seems a bit confusing for me.
I am hoping for a tutor on a weekly basis to help guide me thru my studies. I am hoping to have developed a comfortable conversationa l proficiency in 6 months, up to 1 year. I also want to be able to read and write basic Thai.
