I am a near beginner student. I have recently spent about 10 weeks in Kazakhstan, so nearly everything I have learned so far is by immersion. I plan to move to Kazakhstan or Kyrgyzstan in a few years, and I would like to be nearly fluent by that time. My listening comprehension is probably my strongest area, but I definitely need improvement first in conversation and second in writing. I would like to study independently around 10 hours per week and have 1-3 hours of lessons or tutoring sessions with a teacher. I want my lessons to be effecient and effective. I don't want an accent in Kazakhstan, so I would prefer a teacher from Central Asia if possible. As long as my teacher is competent and friendly, I think we'll get along quite well!

I am an engineer at the Johnson Space Center and I started learning Russian 3 years ago in college because of my interest in the Russian space program. I have taken two years of classes at the University of Wisconsin-Mad ison and spent the Spring 2007 semester studying abroad at the Moscow International University. I have an intermediate language proficiency level and would like to primarily improve my conversationa l Russian abilities.
I would like to dedicate between 2-6 hours per week for language lessons. I'm looking for a teacher that values the teacher-stude nt relationship and has a genuine interest in teaching Russian.
